About

Hello,

My name is James and I run a little blog about learning to play electric guitar.

When I first made it, I just used a free theme, which I thought looked pretty cool.   It was orange and grey, and in the header it had this funky looking dude holding up a guitar.  Awesome.  Then about a year after I had put it up there and more or less forgotten all about it, I showed the blog to a buddy of mine and he said “Hey, that looks great.. but you’re writing about electric guitars and you do realise that’s an acoustic guitar he’s holding?” and I could only reply “What? No it isn’t!” but then I looked closer and I saw that it was.  You could only see the headstock and the start of the neck in the graphic, so it wasn’t totally obvious and it took someone to point it out to me.  But then when I saw it, I was just like “OH!  oops..”

So after a little bit of consideration and a lot of procrastination, I started looking for a new theme for my blog.  But I just couldn’t find anything out there that I liked.  So I bit the bullet and got a designer to help me create one from scratch.  I thought it looked pretty rockin’ so I thought it would be cool to share it with everyone.  I’m releasing it as Open Source, under the GPL v3 licence, and if it seems to be at all popular then I might get some more made.. maybe with some heavy metal guitars with floyd rose tremolos, or with some jazz boxes, or even with acoustic guitars.  We’ll see.

So there you have it.. the short and simple story of how this site came to be.  Aren’t you glad you asked?  If you like the theme here, feel free to comment on the theme pages, and if you blog or a website and you think your readers might be interested in this theme, then feel free to link to it.  Thank you for visiting :)
